Udhampur encounter: 2 terrorists killed, arms recovered
Security forces killed two suspected Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists in an overnight joint operation in Udhampur district, Jammu and Kashmir, with search operations continuing and arms recovered.
Security forces killed two suspected Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists in an overnight encounter in the Brattal-Sohan and Khubban forest areas of Udhampur district, Jammu and Kashmir.
The joint operation, named Operation Sohan, was launched during the night of September 16-17 following confirmed intelligence about terrorist movement near Brattal.
Troops from the Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF conducted the operation under difficult terrain and hostile weather, with contact made late at night.
Arms and ammunition were recovered from the encounter site, and no casualties were reported among security personnel.
Search operations were continuing in the area at the time of reporting, with the terrorists’ identities still being ascertained.

The two terrorists killed are suspected to be affiliated with the Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) outfit.

It was launched during the intervening night of September 16 and 17 after confirmed inputs about the presence of terrorists in the general area of Brattal.
Troops of the Army’s White Knight Corps, Jammu and Kashmir Police and the CRPF carried out the targeted counter-terrorism operation despite hostile weather, difficult terrain and poor visibility.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police said the Special Operations Group launched the anti-terror operation in coordination with the Army in a remote area of Udhampur district.
