A double century and a fifty from Ishan Kishan sealed the Duleep Trophy for East Zone, who beat South Zone on first-innings lead in Chennai.
Kishan’s 270 in the first innings and 80 in the second gave him 350 runs for the match, earning him the Player of the Match award as East Zone ended a 13-year title drought.
East Zone’s first-innings score of 708 was never under threat, with South Zone dismissed for 336 in reply.
Abhimanyu Easwaran, Shikhar Mohan and Kumar Kushagra all chipped in with significant scores to build East Zone’s dominant total.
The final at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium ran from September 6 to 10 and ended without an outright result, with the title decided on first-innings lead.
