Italian woman’s video on marrying into Indian family goes viral

Chrissy Varughese’s video about marrying into an Indian family, describing three cultural surprises, has gone viral on Instagram.

She said her plate was refilled repeatedly even after she said she was full, which she described as typical of how Indian households make sure guests never go hungry.

She also noted a difference in kitchen etiquette, with her Indian family insisting she relax instead of helping with cooking or serving, unlike common practice in Italy.

A third observation was directness, with relatives commenting openly on her appearance, clothing and makeup, which she initially mistook for displeasure before understanding it as affection.

The video has drawn millions of views, with many commenters praising Indian hospitality and noting that the directness she described comes from genuine care.
