PCB reveals National Champions Cup teams and captains
The PCB has revealed the teams and captains for its new National Champions Cup, running August 11-18 ahead of the 2027 ODI World Cup.
The Pakistan Cricket Board has revealed the teams and captains for its new National Champions Cup, running from August 11 to 18 ahead of the 2027 ICC Men’s ODI World Cup.
Four teams will play seven matches, all held at the Multan Cricket Stadium.
The tournament follows a single round-robin phase with a final, featuring sides named Pakistan Gold, Pakistan Greens, Pakistan Whites and Pakistan Blues.
Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shadab Khan, Saim Ayub and Sahibzada Farhan will captain the four teams, selected by the national selection committee.
The competition is meant to help assess the depth of one-day talent in the country ahead of the World Cup.
It is part of a wider revamp of Pakistan’s domestic cricket calendar for 2026-27, including an expansion of regional teams and changes to the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.
